We want to leave that scar alone…but what if it didn’t heal right?
When your career has taught you that you have to stay strong, stay busy, and carry the weight of difficult experiences on your own, what are you supposed to do when that weight becomes a burden, and then that burden becomes a feeling to numb with an unhealthy coping mechanism? As a former Fire and EMS professional now a licensed therapist, I understand the unique culture, demands, and emotional challenges that come with serving others in moments of crisis, and the avoidance of wanting to talk about it.
I am led towards working with those who run towards danger: police officers, firefighters, EMS professionals, dispatchers, and their families. Whether you're struggling with trauma, PTSD, cumulative stress, burnout, anxiety, depression, grief, relationship challenges, or even the transition away from public safety, you don't have to explain the job to me before we can begin the real work.
My approach to therapy is collaborative, practical, and compassionate. I draw from evidence-based therapies while tailoring treatment to your individual experiences, strengths, and goals. And know this: therapy isn't about fixing what is “wrong” you; it's about helping you process what happened and what you've carried, how to build on your resilience, and reconnecting with the life you want outside of that uniform.
Trust is the foundation of effective therapy. I know firsthand how important confidentiality is within the first responder community, particularly when concerns about stigma or career impact can make asking for help feel risky. The space you and I create is a place where you can speak honestly without judgment, knowing that your privacy is protected within the ethical and legal standards of the counseling profession.
If you're looking for a therapist who understands the realities of law enforcement, firefighting, EMS, or emergency services, I'd be honored to walk alongside you as you move toward healing, resilience, and renewed purpose.
